Based on data collected by the Center for Whale Research, you will learn about the fascinating behavior, ecology, foraging patterns, and complex social lives of the Southern Resident Killer Whales — the key role that grandmothers play and why killer whales go through menopause. This iconic population frequents our local waters where their primary food source (salmon) is dwindling. They are now on the endangered species list and are at risk of extinction — what can be done to save them?
